PALOUSE FOOD BANK Activities
Palouse Food Bank serves the residents of Palouse, WA with a monthly food distribution. Our nineteenth food distribution will be on Wednesday, November 20th from 1:00pm to 3:00 pm in the Palouse Community Center in Palouse, WA.
A truck load of food, 3,000 pounds this month, was brought down from Second Harvest of the Northwest for the community of Palouse. In addition, USDA commodities were given away. A local farm consistently is donating their surplus fresh hen’s eggs to the food bank and food drives in the community replenish our supplies. In April Palouse Food Bank distributed fresh tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers, bread products, onions, and potatoes.
48 families were served.
We are now consistently serving 10 to 12% of the community of Palouse.
Palouse Food Bank is sponsored by the Council on Aging. We are supported by the Caritas Fund of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Pullman. Palouse Food Bank works with WSU’s Center for Civic Engagement, Palouse Cares, Project ACCESS, Garfield Food Bank, Pullman Child Welfare, WSU’s Sigma Kappa, and the Community of Palouse.
Our next food distribution is scheduled for Wednesday, September 25th. Please view our website: www.palousefoodbank.org
Thank you for your support of our local food bank!
